Who is Healthful Connection?

Healthful Connection is an all inclusive community-based organisation that harnesses the power of people working together with a common goal to achieve greater health and wellbeing. We source, simplify and share holistic health information to influence positive nutritional, physical and lifestyle choices - a concept we call ‘on and off the plate.’ We provide mentoring for individuals and/or groups of people looking to improve their quality of life.

What is a Health Coach?

We have certified Health coaches within our Healthful Community who are much like any other coach except that they specialise in health and wellbeing. They are a health and wellness authority and supportive mentor that guide people through the steps of long-term behaviour changes. They fill the void often left by doctors, physicians and clinics that do not have the time or resources to support individuals through their health issues. Health coaches do not diagnose disease, prescribe medication or manage symptoms of poor health. Rather, they facilitate organic transformation, help identify perceived barriers, build self-awareness of mindset and behaviours, and hold people accountable on their journey.

What is the benefits of joining a community-based health program?

Community based group programs solve many enormous obstacles faced by the health care system. Doctors lack the time, resources, and support team to help patients create sustainable lifestyle change. However, as many large studies have shown, you are far more likely to achieve your health goals when you are a part of a community working together to make positive changes. Your social networks matter, and if your friends have healthy habits, you are more likely to as well. So get healthy friends through our community!

Do you offer personalised Health coaching?

Individuals looking for a more personalised approach may work with one of our certified health coaches. Our free initial 45 minute health consultations provide the opportunity to discuss individual goals, current health struggles and/or ask general advice. Individuals that decide to proceed with a one-on-one program, will then work with the coach to devise a plan, set goals, schedule regular in person or remotely check-ins, and have the on-going support on their journey.

What is the Healthful Connection way, and how do you get results?

Health is a journey, not a destination. We are all at different stages and all face various challenges throughout our lives. Some people can adapt quickly to change, while others need time to adopt our recommendations. Either way, we take an agile approach to health with our community. That is, we encourage small, incremental changes with frequent retrospectives to assess what worked well, what didn’t work well, and where you can improve going forward.

What areas of health and wellbeing do you specialise in?

We are constantly evolving and always updating our content and programs. There are many general areas of health and wellbeing that we focus on in our programs including detoxification, gut health, balanced diet, exercise, stress management and sleep. However, we also promote and help people with more specific health issues such as weight loss, food addiction, blood sugar levels, blood pressure, sugar cravings, pregnancy concerns and sports injury prevention.

Do I have to have a serious health issue or illness to benefit from your programs?

Absolutely not! We have many people who want to improve their overall quality of life and lean on our community to guide them. This might include ways to eat healthier, how to improve low energy levels or new ways to feel better inside and out!
